Alas Purwo has six main types of ecosystems, making it one of the most biodiverse national parks in Indonesia. These ecosystems include:
- Bamboo Forest: Home to wildlife such as peacocks.
- Mangrove Forest: Habitat for rare species such as mangrove crabs.
- Coastal Forest: Offers beautiful sea views.
- Tropical Forest: Home to a variety of unique plants.
- Grassland: Sadengan Savanna as an example.
Route to Alas Purwo National Park
Alas Purwo National Park is located in Tegaldlimo and Purwoharjo Districts, Banyuwangi. Here are some route options to reach this location:
- From Banyuwangi City: Travel about 2 hours by private vehicle. You need to go to Tegaldlimo, then continue the journey to Rawabendo post, the main entrance to the national park.
- From Jember: Take the route to Genteng, then continue to Tegaldlimo via Srono or Cluring. The distance is about 65 kilometers.
- Transportation: It is highly recommended to use private vehicles, because access to the national park requires high mobility, especially to explore the inner areas.
